My husband Jeff and I incurred several problems while assembling our new computer system, so we called the help desk.
The man on the phone started to talk to Jeff in computer jargon, which confused us even more. "Sir," my husband politely said, "please explain what I should do as if I were a four-year-old."

Recipe of the day
Saucy Fried Chicken:
3 to 4 lbs. chicken 1 c. all-purpose flour salt and pepper to taste 1/2 c. margarine 2.1-oz. pkg. chicken noodle soup mix | 10-3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup 12-oz. can evaporated milk 1 t. poultry seasoning dried parsley to taste | |
Coat chicken pieces in flour; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Melt margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden on both sides; transfer to a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Sprinkle with dry soup mix; pour mushroom soup over top. Combine evaporated milk, seasoning and parsley in a small saucepan over medium heat; heat through without boiling. Pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 4.

Joke of the Day
Last May a man living in Newton, Massachusetts received a bill on his as yet unused credit card stating that he owed $0.00. He threw it away. In April he received another and tossed that one, too. The following month the credit card company sent him a nasty note stating they were going to cancel his card if he didn't send them $0.00.
In retrospect, he probably should have let them do that. Instead he called the company and was informed that (are you ready for this?) the problem was the result of a computer error. They told him they'd take care of it.
The following month he reasoned that, if other charges appeared on the card, then it would put an end to his ridiculous predicament. Besides, they assured him the problem would be resolved. So he presented his card for a purchase. It was declined.
Once again he called. He learned that the credit card had been cancelled for lack of payment. They apologized for (here it is again) another computer error and promised they would rectify the situation. The next day he got a bill for $0.00 stating that payment was now overdue. Assuming that this bill was yet another mistake, he ignored it. But the following month he received yet another bill for $0.00 stating that he had ten days to pay his account in full or the company would take necessary steps to recover the debt. He gave in. He mailed in a check for $0.00.
The computer duly processed it and returned a statement to the effect that his account was paid in full. A week later, the man's bank called him asking him why he wrote a check for $0.00. He explained the problem at length. The bank replied that the $0.00 check had caused their check processing software to fail.
The bank could not process ANY checks from ANY of their customers that day because the check for $0.00 caused a computer crash. The following month the man received a letter from the credit card company claiming that his check had bounced, that he still owed $0.00 and, unless payment was sent immediately, they would institute procedures to collect his debt.
This man, who had been considering buying his wife a computer for her birthday, bought her a typewriter instead.

I wanted to share an amazing discovery I found out today. You know, Laminin? Well, it's the main molecule, in our bodies, that holds everything together!! Our skin, our organs, etc...is held all together by this amazing molecule!! I am going to share the pictures of this molecule with you in this post....God is AWESOME!!

- Heat oven to 375°F. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat until beef is brown; drain. Stir in beans, tomato sauce and seasoning mix. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed.
- Separate dough into 5 biscuits. Press or roll each to form 5-inch round. Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture onto center of each flattened biscuit. Sprinkle cheese evenly onto biscuits. Fold half of biscuit over filling; press edges with fork to seal. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Top with salsa, sour cream and green onions. Garnish with lettuce.

Location: The Page County Fairgrounds on Collins Avenue in Luray, VA
The Page County Heritage Festival is a two-day annual event which is always held on the Columbus Day observed weekend, in October.
First held in 1969, it is one of the oldest such arts and crafts shows in Virginia. Attendance has grown to over 10,000 with more than 175 crafters and artists from throughout Virginia and nearby states.
Craft demonstrations range from quilt making, woodworking, great wheel spinning, basket weaving, soap making, and original paintings, to apple butter boiling and apple cider pressing.
The Antique Tractor Steam and Gas Engine Show is one of the largest in the Shenandoah Valley, and features a large number of demonstrations of farm work from the county's early days using steam equipment for wheat thrashing, log sawing, straw baling, and making shingles and sorghum molasses.
Food is Bountiful! Choose from dozens of home-made selections. Other favorite events include mule train rides, face painting, and a variety of live entertainment featuring bands, cloggers, and shows.
Valuable raffle prizes are donated by a number of local history organizations, and there are large selections of books for sale. A consignment building is full of crafts and foods made by the people of Page County.
Our Heritage Festival is a fun filled event, with activities to delight all family members.
We hope you will make plans to enjoy our lovely valley, the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains in their fall splendor, our quaint small town atmosphere, and the Festival celebrating our heritage.

Cots will be placed in the foyer for those who say, "Sunday is my only day to sleep in."
There will be a special section with lounge chairs for those who feel that our pews are too hard.
Eye drops will be available for those with tired eyes from watching TV late Saturday night.
We will have steel helmets for those who say, "The roof would cave in if I ever came to church."
Blankets will be furnished for those who think the church is too cold, and fans for those who say it is too hot.
Scorecards will be available for those who wish to list the hypocrites present.
Relatives and friends will be in attendance for those who can't go to church and cook dinner, too.
We will distribute "Stamp Out Stewardship" buttons for those that feel the church is always asking for money.
One section will be devoted to trees and grass for those who like to seek God in nature.
Doctors and nurses will be in attendance for those who plan to be sick on Sunday.
The sanctuary will be decorated with both Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies for those who never have seen the church without them.

FAITH AND STRENGTH “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” 1 SA 30:6. David's faith faltered. In 1 SA 27:1 it says, “And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.” David had been anointed king; he knew he would be king, but look how his human reasoning came against him. He had to run from the hand of Saul and ran into the land of the Philistines. That was where he sought safety. But what happened to him in the land of the Philistines? Ziklag was burned with fire. The Lord used that fire to drive David out of the Philistine’s land. Right in the extremity of David’s life was the turning point when he became king. When he left Ziklag he went to Hebron and was anointed king. That was where the fulfillment of that impossible promise took place. His own men had talked of stoning him, but in such extremity he turned back and strengthened himself in the Lord. In 1 SA 30:6 we read, “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” That was when David’s faith was restored: at the point of all human impossibility, when it became absolutely impossible and his own men had turned against him, he “encouraged himself in the LORD,” and He gave David supernatural strength. He went in the strength of his faith. We see in 1 SA 30:4, “Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.” David and his men had so worn themselves out that “they had no more power to weep.” They were exasperated and at the end of their strength. They had wept until “they had no more power to weep.” 1 SA 30:10 says, “But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.” Why did he go with four hundred instead of six hundred men? Two hundred were so faint they were not able to cross the brook! Stop and think about how David was so worn and weak, but then he went forth in supernatural strength. He pursued them all that night. The next morning he came upon the camp where they had taken the spoil. It says in 1 SA 30:17, “And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.” After two hundred men were so faint that they could not cross the brook, David, with four hundred men, still traveled all night, came upon the army just at the break of day, and fought hand to hand for thirty-six hours! See the absolute human impossibility. See the supernatural strength the Lord gave David and those four hundred men and how they gained the victory and brought the spoil. They went from there to Hebron where David became king. Do you see how the Lord brings us through such human impossibilities? Faith was bright. By faith, David had such strength, but when he fled from the land of Israel, he said, “I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul.” He was using human reasoning. True faith is such a pillar and gives such strength that we can go where it is humanly impossible to go. Amen. I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, Trusting only Thee; Trusting Thee for full salvation, Great and free. I am trusting Thee to guide me; Thou alone shalt lead, Every day and hour supplying All my need. 1/3 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
Drain & rinse kidney & lima beans. Combine ingredients, toss beans to coat.

"What's He going to do to me? He loves everybody. He's got to take me to heaven, or He wouldn't be God." Jeff's statement left Cathy stunned. Was it true? It certainly made sense. What kind of loving God could send someone to hell? Maybe Jeff knew what he was talking about. Maybe it didn't really matter what a person does on earth.
Don't kid yourself. God cares very deeply about how we choose to live our lives, and as far as hell goes, only people who choose to go there make it. God has given us free will. He will not force any of us to spend eternity with Him if we don't want to. If we decide, however, that we do want to spend our eternity in heaven, then it is our responsibility to prepare ourselves, body, mind, and spirit. Our earthly existence becomes boot camp for the Kingdom. We train for the world which is to come. God is just and merciful, but He will indeed judge. It is the innocent who will stand beside Him.
Prayer: Let me not tempt Your mercy, Lord, but do everything in my power to act as I thing You want me to act. Train me to be a Kingdom person, worthy to enter Your heaven when I am ready. Amen.
