The Bible isn't talking about this kind of needle. In that day, the cities were often walled in and there was a doorway, which they called the "eye of the needle". For a camel to enter thru it, it had to be completely unloaded of all the merchandise it carried. Then, the camel had to crawl thru it on his knees. This is the point Jesus was making, that a rich man had to be willing to give up all his earthly goods and fall on has knees. It doesn't say he had to give them up necessarily, but be willing to love God more than his riches.
