The Bridge
This sunday we went back to our water source, the mountain on Rt 55....& this time, on the way back, we stopped at the bridge where my husband says he used to swim. He & my youngest son went for a walk along the water's path. They raced each other back to the car, my son, not wanting to jump in, but said he got his feet wet, anyway. I remember those days, when we were my son's age. The days of jumping into creeks, rivers, going swimming with friends, living a carefree existence. Alot of young people nowadays don't do that sort of thing....it's a shame. There's too many conviences, public swimming pools, or the malls, or video games, that make kids not want to explore nature and see what all it has to offer. I remember when I couldn't wait to get outside when I was younger. You couldn't keep me indoors, nowadays the kids, you can hardly get them out. We used to explore the woods, and the creekbeds, the rivers, the forests. What fun we had , and I find myself reminiscing on days like our sundays, our 'special' days where we take that trip up the mountain. I wish I could stay there forever, and be carefree again, enjoying God's wonderful creation and His glorious beauty.
